Inauguration of Agno River Basin Forecasting & Warning System

President Benigno S. Aquino III visited Pangasinan province and led the inauguration of Phase II of the Agno River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning System (FFWS), an early warning facility for the provision of timely, reliable and understandable flood warnings and bulletins in the provinces of Tarlac and Pangasinan.
The President was given a briefing at the Operations Control Room inside the rehabilitated building of the Agno River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning Center (FFWC) which houses the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-PAGASA in Rosales, Pangasinan. Afterwhich, he observed a sample call using the FFWS dedicated telephone line to the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Operation Center in Manila.
