On police protection for Jerome Tabanganay of dzRK Radyo ng Bayan

We condemn the assault by Kalinga Gov. Joel Baac on Jerome Tabanganay, an anchor of dzRK Radyo ng Bayan. The order by DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo for Cordillera Administrative Region police director Chief Supt. Villamor Bumanglag to secure the safety of the journalist who was assaulted inside the announcer’s booth last Tuesday in Tabuk City is commendable. This administration upholds freedom of speech and will defend the rights of the public in this regard.
