In light with the issues concerning the nation’s coffers, the Department of Energy (DOE) upholds the legitimacy of the government’s Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), as it aims to fast-track the implementation of high impact projects to further the country’s economic growth.
Meanwhile, the DAP scheme has been utilized to complement the government efforts in stepping-up its electrification programs in the rural areas, which the National Electrification Administration (NEA) oversees. The Sitio Electrification Program, through NEA, received an estimated amount of 1.5 billion pesos from February 2012 to January 2013 for line connection and enhancement projects to 2,219 sitios nationwide.
The DOE stresses that we remain with our mandate and that all disbursements are well-accounted for.
