Pantawid Pamilya expands to more areas; strengthens program implementation

President Benigno S. Aquino III reads the joint Memorandum Circular No. 2 entered into by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Health (DOH) and National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) containing the institutional arrangements for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Pantawid Pamilya program, which was presented to him by DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman, DepEd Secretary Armin A. Luistro, and DOH Secretary Enrique T. Ona in Malacañang Palace recently.


Likewise, a ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was held in Malacañang for the fourth phase expansion of the Pantawid Pamilya program, which was attended by local chief executives, legislators, non-government and volunteer organizations. Under the fourth phase, some additional 281 new areas will be implementing the program.

The Pantawid Pamilya program aims to cover 2.3 million households covering 936 municipalities and 74 cities in 79 provinces nationwide by end of December 2011. As of 31 December 2010, there are 1,035,000 family beneficiaries from 668 municipalities and 61 cities in 79 provinces.
