Inauguration of R-1 Extension Project Manila Cavite Toll Express
President Benigno S. Aquino III led the inaugural drive-thru and unveiling of the project marker of the new R-1 Expressway Extension or the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX-MCTE) project. A seven (7) kilometer dual two lane North and South bound expressway traversing the Bacoor bay built over water and a combination of reclamation and viaduct works stretching from Bacoor to Kawit, Cavite.
The R-1 Expressway Extension Project will serve as a major link with a faster and more convenient access from Metro Manila to the province of Cavite. It will also enhance the rapid development of CALABARZON as a major investment and residential area.
The President was assisted by Transportation Sec. Jose De Jesus, Public Works Sec. Rogelio Singson, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Serge Osmeña and other local officials of Cavite.
