DFA lowers alert level for Bahrain, OFW allowed to go back

A June 4, 2011 press release by the Department of Foreign Affairs
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has lowered the crisis alert level for Bahrain from level 2 to level 1 in view of the lifting of the state of emergency in said country, as announced by the Bahraini government.
The Bahraini Royal Palace announced on May 31 the lifting of the state of emergency and invited opposition groups to join wide-ranging talks on political reform.
Under alert level 1, Filipinos are urged to actively monitor ongoing developments.  Returning workers are allowed to go back to the concerned country, but non-essential and non-urgent travels are still not allowed.
On March 15, the DFA raised the crisis alert level to level 2 for Bahrain.  Under crisis alert level 2, Filipinos are urged to voluntarily relocate or leave the country if they have no pressing need to remain, as well as to actively monitor developments and be prepared for emergencies.
