Palace to hold 3rd concert for teachers on Oct. 1

MANILA РMalaca̱ang will hold its third Konsyerto ng Palasyo (KSP) on Oct. 1 to pay homage to teachers.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said performers in the upcoming concert include vocalists Alex Dagalea, Rommel Arellano, Bea Mae Sacramento and Luke Dela Cruz.

“These powerhouse vocalists are ready to sing out and give thanks to all the Filipino teachers who help shape the nation towards a Bagong Pilipinas,” the PCO said.

One of the powerhouse vocalists, Dagalea, is a teacher at De La Salle University and was given the opportunity to be one of the Filipino performers for Hong Kong Disneyland and Universal Studios Singapore, the PCO said.

The PCO said Dagalea also represented Singapore and won bronze for Vocal Pop and silver medals for the Vocal Broadway and Vocal Contemporary categories at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

On the other hand, Arellano is a former “Tawag ng Tanghalan” contestant, while Sacramento and Dela Cruz, a singing tandem from Baguio City has one million followers on TikTok.

The Philippines celebrates National Teachers’ Month from Sept. 5 to Oct. 5 by virtue of Proclamation 242 issued in 2011.

In 2016, Republic Act 10743 was signed into law, declaring Oct. 5 of every year as National Teachers’ Day.

The third KSP will be held at the Kalayaan Grounds of Malacañan Palace. It will also be streamed live on the KSP’s Facebook page.

Malacañang also held KSP for soldiers and Filipino athletes in April and August, respectively. (PNA)
