CA confirms four new ambassadors, three officers

The Commission on Appointments (CA) confirmed the appointments of four Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (AEPs) and three officers of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) during its plenary session this Tuesday.
Confirmed by the CA were:

1.      Evelyn D. Austria-GarciaAEP to the Czech Republic.  She is currently Minister and Consul General at the Philippine Embassy in Norway.
2.      Nestor Z. Ochoa AEP to Brunei Darussalam.  Previous to his appointment, he was Acting Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
3.      Bienvenido V. TejanoAEP to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Kiribati and the Solomon Islands.  He was previously AEP to the Philippine Embassy in New Zealand.
4.      Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. – AEP to the United States of America with concurrent jurisdiction over the U.S. Virgin Islands, Grenada and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.  Prior to his appointment, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine-American Life General Insurance Company.
The CA also confirmed the promotion of three officers.
Reynaldo A. Catapang, Charge d’Affaires, a.i. at the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom, was promoted to Chief of Mission, Class I.  He was previously DFA Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs.
Adelio Angelito S. Cruz, Consul General at the Philippine Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, was promoted to Career Minister. Before his posting, he was Executive Director of the DFA Office of Protocol and State Visits.
Raul H. Dado, Consul at the Philippine Consul General in Macau was promoted to Foreign Service Officer, Class I.  He was previously a director at the DFA Office of Legal Affairs.
