The three-day job fair of 33 American-owned companies in the country slated to be held on March 18 to 20, 2011 at SM North Edsa, Quezon City, will welcome all workers who would go to the fair to apply for any position among the 6,600 local vacancies, which will be offered during the fair to all jobseekers, including OFW-repatriates from Libya.
“All jobseekers, not only the OFW-repatriates from Libya, are welcome to register and apply for vacancies at the ‘America in 3-D Job Fair’ of the 33 U.S. firms, “Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said as she clarified concerns that the said job fair will be opened only for the repatriates from Libya.
She emphasized, though, that the three-day, US Embassy sponsored activity would prioritize qualified OFWs earlier evacuated from Libya.   This, however, does not preclude other interested workers to apply for vacancies at the fair.

Baldoz explained that not all vacancies to be offered at the said job fair can be filled by the repatriates.
“Positions to be offered will include card and bank sales officers, customer service representatives, BPO agent and non-agent positions, marketing staff, HR generalists, accountants, technical officers, IT specialists, and analysts,” which may not be suitable to the repatriates and can be filled by jobseekers with necessary qualifications,” she said.
To find out the list of vacancies which will be offered at the job fair, interested workers may visit the website of the U.S. Embassy in Manila, or the DOLE website at www.dole.gov.ph. They can also visit the Phil JobNet, the government’s official job portal at http://www.phil-job.net/, which contains about 60,000 vacancies posted by local and overseas employers.
